With Montauk Distilling Co.’s white label service, we offer you the opportunity to have a customized spirit or seltzer dedicated to your special occasion. Your spirit, (whether Hard Seltzer, Vodka, Gin, White Rum, Aged Rum, or Whiskey) label, cork, and seal can all be crafted to reflect your personal taste and brand.

Additional flavorings—which can include botanicals, natural flavors, sweeteners, etc.—can also be added to create a one-of-a-kind offering.

As a grain-to-glass distillery, we have the equipment and knowledge to provide a complete contract service ranging from branded house spirits to formulating your own signature product. Montauk Distilling Company has an in-depth understanding of the industry and our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible.

THE CUSTOM PROCESS

We recommend that you start on your branding and labeling first, as labels often have the longest turnaround. Once you have those things, the next step is to decide which service—or combination of services—you want to use for your product or line of products. Our standard in-house spirits have the shortest turnaround—as they are always on-hand—with customized spirits taking a little longer, as there is some product development that will need to be done first. We recommend that you think about the ABV (alcohol percentage) of your product as some spirits have legal requirements, but a general rule of thumb is somewhere between 40–45% depending on the spirit.

For customized spirits we also recommend that you carefully consider the flavor profile that you are looking for. We are happy to offer guidance and insight, but we want this spirit to be truly yours—a product of your own creativity. You will be completely involved in the development of your customized spirit as we need your feedback throughout the process. We also invite you to help distill and blend your first batch from start to finish.

Private Bottling & Packaging

Labels

The appearance of your bottle, label, cork, and seal is incredibly important. It’s what draws people in and is what we refer to it as “the first sip”. The appearance is what persuades them to try your spirit, and the quality of the contents is what makes them come back again—potentially creating a lifelong consumer. We are not a design company so we recommend that you take the time to find a solid brand creator to assist you in achieving the look and feel that is right for your brand. We are more than willing to help where we can and have contacts if you need.

We will send your information to help your brand creator develop a label that is compatible with our labeling equipment. We can apply a single label or a front and back label.

Bottles, Caps, & Seals

Finding the right bottle to represent your brand can be an exciting but overwhelming task and when purchasing bottles in small quantities it can also be quite costly. We encourage you to source your own bottles and closures that feel right for the look and feel of your brand, however we also have a few bottles in stock for you to choose from as well. Our bottles would also include our chosen caps.

Once you have chosen your bottle the final step is to decide how to make it tamper-proof. We can provide PVC shrink capsules—which are a simple solution—but again, we encourage you to explore your options as there are many to consider such as neck labels, wax seals, and other styles that your brand creator can help you with.

Bottling

Finally, once we have your chosen label, bottle, cap, and seal, all that is left to do is bottle! If you come to us with all of the above points covered then your spirit can be ready for pick up in as little as 2–4 weeks!
