Big things are happening at MDCO! Work continues on our new distillery and we can't wait to open our doors to the public this July! The fully opertional distillery & tasting room will be a great place to hang out, enjoy a drink and have fun with family & friends! See you soon!
We're thrilled to announce that Matt Ellis has joined the MDCO family as our new Head Distiller. Matt learned the trade as an apprentice under esteemed Master Distiller Brandon Collins, before branching out on his own and joining MDCO. Growing up on the North Fork, Matt’s interests as a distiller include showcasing locally grown grains and other products and building a brand that represents the community that he grew up in as a whole. Matt will be playing an integral role in bringing the vision for "MDCO at the Firehouse", our new distillery & tasting room in Riverhead, NY, to life.
Riverhead first organized a fire company in 1836. In 1931, a firehouse was built on Second Street and the Riverhead Fire Department occupied the building until 2008. This structure is listed on the town's registry of local landmarks. Today it is home to Montauk Distilling Co. We are proud to occupy such an important historic site in Riverhead and share our locally distilled spirits with visitors from near and far. Please stop in and say hello!
